"This was our fourth visit and as always was very enjoyable. The menu choice was interesting with something for all tastes. Apart from a few regulaars on the menu there were some new Items - particularly on the desserts menu. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. My wife and I shared the cheese souffle as a starter -i it was light and fluffy but a great shared starter to give us room for one of their fabulous desserts. I like my lamb well done and it was cooked to perfection for my taste. A great meal - there will be a fifth visit."

"My third visit to the restaurant, which must speak volumes! Again the food, wine, and on this occasion, the local farmed venison was superbly prepared and the presentation of the food on the plate had to be admired before it was tasted. I can thoroughly recommend the ’fish of the day’ main dish which I have had on a previous occasion and never fails to be of interest. A well worthwhile place to visit for a special event and for more formal meals."

"Food was absolutely gorgeous, huge portions and really had a problem deciding what to have as there was so many lovely things to chosse from. The service was impeccible and so friendly and for once it felt like there were enough people serving which so often isnt the case in some places I have been to on a busy sat night. Just one teeny complaint - having the toilets downstairs is a nightmare when you have huge heels on and after a few glasses of wine! I will def be back as I really enjoyed it.

"We had a very enjoyable meal, sharing succulent scallops as a starter and hake and venison as our mains. Both were generous and excellent. We enjoyed a pleasant petit chablis to go with the starter and hake and I had a glass of cabernet sauvignon with my venison. The atmosphere was informal and all the staff were friendly. "Venue was simpler and smaller than expected but food quality was stunning with interesting and varied menu for all tastes and reasonably priced wine. The fixed menu deal was amazing value with 2 wonderful courses for £15. One of the best local meals we’ve had (especially butternut squash gnocchi and lamb main courses). Am recommending to all local friends."

"Let’s start with my conclusion: The House on the Hill is possibly the best Kent restaurant that I have visited.

The restaurant is formally laid out but it has a very relaxing atmosphere. Table layout makes for an intimate yet spacious dining experience. The seating area downstairs allows for a pleasant cocktail or several plates of tapas whilst watching the chefs in the open plan kitchen.
Upstairs sees a larger eating area and a smaller room both very well lit with a perfect music mix at just the right volume.

The Maître d’ is very confident in his greeting and serving, striking a perfect balance between service and friendliness. His attention to detail was instrumental to such a lovely evening."

"It would be easy to miss the House on the Hill, halfway up London Road between the station and the council offices. There is nothing flashy about the restaurant and bar’s frontage with its understated colour scheme and logo. Having eaten there however, I would suggest that you try very hard not to miss. On a Friday night in January, owner and chef Andre Woodward was showing off his new menu. With a distinctly local flavour (pheasants from Sussex, Romney Marsh salt lamb and a Kentish white on the wine list), it was a treat."

"Great dining experience. It certainly met our expectations after reading the many other praising reviews. The pork was the best ever, service complimentary, and atmosphere was spot on. Will definately visit again, particularly if needing something that bit special."

"The House on the Hill, Sevenoaks, looks lovely, but most importantly it serves some of the best food we’ve had in a very long time. We are both vegetarians and even though the weekend menu is somewhat limited for us everything was incredibly tasty and well worth the 60 mile round trip from our home in Greenwich! The service is friendly and even though it was our first visit we were treated as if we were long time regulars by the wonderful staff."

"House on the Hill - Sevenoaks. This was the first time we had visited and had an excellent meal in a restaurant which had a good atmosphere and attentive staff. The food was of a very high quality with a small but impressive wine list. A restaurant we will definitely go back to!

"House on the Hill (Sevenoaks), eaten here a few times and it never fails to please, lovely food, reasonably priced when compared to the "nice" Sevenoaks restaurants. Wine list is not exhaustive but offers a good range and value. The only shame is that it is never full, which means the ambience suffers a bit (possibly the best kept secret). However it is a quality venue with great food and pleasant service.
